There are many reasons why men make more than women and it has nothing to do with the much repeated pay gap. Men take dangerous jobs in mining, foresty, construction and other high risk jobs because of the pay. Because men are willing to go all out for the paycheck they get killed on the job more often. According to statista.com, in the latest numbers available in 2019, 4896 men died on the job with 437 women dying at work. Men work physically harder out in the weather at the risk of death and injury. Are there women working along side them ? Yes, at a ten to twenty to one ratio. Are these women welcome at these jobs? No doubt companies go out of their way to hire woman for these demanding job.
