I was in my 20s once. Giving a 20 something year old the decision to loan $30,000 to $100,000 without collateral on anything doesn’t sound like a good idea. And having a for profit organization like a college taking advantage of young adults without any guarantee that their product benefits the student has lead to a $ 1.59 trillion problem.
Since 1978 college tuition has gone up 3.5 times. Most other items on the CPI are about the same except medical costs have doubled. Colleges can literally raise prices every year and do so with no accountability. It’s about time we impose some form of consumer regulation on colleges.
