High tech is a tough and stressful job. Long hours, impossible deadlines, company failures frequent, financial instability. I think the test is… if you wouldn’t do the job for free you shouldn’t be in the profession.

I worked with many woman engineers. No drama. Everyone knew what to do and did it. As far as getting girls interested in STEM it’s not in any way an automatic ticket to a great career. And yes, I have seen many women drift into project management or just quite the profession. Or start a family and lose interest in engineering. We shouldn’t judge. Many woman just look at an engineering different than most men.
